Link Is Looking For An Experienced Senior Welfare Rights Officer Whose Aim Will Be To Alleviate Poverty Through The Provision Of A High-quality Benefits Advice, Advocacy, Representation And Training Service To Both Internal And External Clients Throughout The Link Group And To The Clients Of Partner Organisation. The Postholder Will Have Specific Responsibility To Take A Leading Role In The Team To Ensure That Welfare Benefits Services Are Delivered To The Highest Possible Standard.


The Role Involves Being Responsible For Managing A Team Of Benefits Assistants And Provide Guidance, Support And Mentoring To Welfare Rights Officer And Welfare Rights Advisers To Ensure Effective Communication, Good Service Provision And Compliance With Policies And Procedures.


The Successful Candidate Will Work In Collaboration With Housing And Debt And Money Advice Staff To Provide Clients With Budgeting Support To Minimise Rent Arrears And Maximise Rent Collection.


About You


You Will Have Relevant Welfare Benefits Training And Have Expert Knowledge Of The Welfare Benefits System And Welfare Reform As Well As Experience Of Representation At Social Security Appeal Tribunals And In-depth Experience Of All Aspects Of Social Security Law.


The Successful Candidate Will Have Excellent Customer Care And Empathy Skills And The Ability To Work As A Part Of A Close-knit Team.


Excellent Communication Skills, Both Oral And Written And Excellent Time Management And Organisation Skills Are Essential For This Role As Is Experience Of Using It Systems Including Ms Office.
